Who's going to be the next buyer?

When you buy your home, you most certainly don't actually know who the next buyer will be; but there are buyers that you definitely want to consider that may be buying your property when you go to sell. If the home has more than two bedrooms, then your potential buyers could be families with children. Schools will be near the top of their list. If it has two or less bedrooms, then your potential buyers might still be a family, but more likely a younger couple, single person, or a couple in retirement. What do they look for in a home? Younger buyers may want to be located near lots of entertainment, have modern conveniences in the home, and all of them would likely want to have convenient access to things like grocery stores and restaurants.

Consider the local school districts, you may not have kids, but the next buyer might. You will want your property to be attractive to families. Crime indexes can be helpful too, be familiar with crime in the city. Crime indexes usually cover the entire city; they are not often broken down to areas within the city, especially in a large city. Many police/sheriff departments host heat maps on their websites; those will give an indication where the most crime occurs in a city.
